I can absolutely relate.

Not so long ago, I was struggling in nearly EVERY area of my life…

* I stayed up consistently until 2am, working on newsletters + tinkering with my website * I felt the knot in my stomach as I decided which bills to pay, and which would have to wait * I passed up dinners with friends because I was afraid it would cost too much (plus, I felt guilty about taking time away from my computer) * I cried constantly because I couldn’t afford to visit my family * I neglected the relationships most important to me because I “needed to work” * I painstakingly created teleclasses, only to have a handful of people register * I let my self-care slide and triumphantly declared that “work felt like self-care” * I dreaded what would happen if my computer bit the dust – how would I afford a new one? * I was working 70+ hours a week. I mean, seriously – my iPhone was practically hooked up intravenously.

Then, one day, the Universe gave me the smack down…

I wasn’t having fun.

This wasn’t what I signed up for.

It wasn’t working.

And beyond the frustration of my day-to-day, I had to face the ultimate reality that I was sending a few clear messages out to the Universe:

1. I don’t deserve good things

2. The only way to win is to struggle

3. I’m not one of ‘those’ people (you know – the smart, affluent, creative, connected ones)
